SOUTH ZAGORIA, Chernarus (AAN) – US Marines deployed to quell rebellion in Chernarus.

The United States has confirmed the deployment of the armed forces from the 27th Marine Expeditionary Unit inside Chernarus. A statement released by the US Defense Dept. claims the action, which took place in the early hours of this morning, was “justified, necessary and proportional...” and "at the official request of the Chernarussian government”. The Chernarussian government's New Deal Party remains leaderless following the Assassination of PM Baranov. Reports from aid agencies and NGOs - currently denied entry at the South Zagoria border by the Chernarussian Defence Force - indicate the country is rapidly descending into anarchy as martial law fails to contain the surge of looting and civil disorder.

SOUTH ZAGORIA, Chernogorsk (AAN) – Unconfirmed sightings raise hopes for Chernarus solution.

Cruise missileReports flooding in from sources all over Chernarus say one thing this morning: the Marines are here. The US embassy has yet to confirm the invasion and live communication with sources inside the South Zagoria region of Chernarus is difficult, however the shear volume of reports received by AAN and increased activity in the blogsphere and on social networking sites clearly point to a surprise invasion from US forces.

SOUTH ZAGORIA, Chernarus (AAN) Federation officials said to be "outraged" at US move.

An emergency meeting of the UN Security Council has been called in New York following the US decision to move a USMC task force into the Green Sea.

The meeting will discuss the ongoing crisis in Chernarus - an ex-soviet bloc country, widely agreed to be within Russia's so-called 'sphere of influence'. The arrival of the 27th Marine Expeditionary Unit in the Green Sea was labelled "provocative" by Russian embassy officials earlier this week.

SOUTH ZAGORIA, Chernarus (AAN) – Violence increases as U.S. task force arrive in region.

There can be little doubt that Chernarus is on the brink of a second civil war. Separatist milita controlling parts of the South Zagoria region - under the command of former Chernarussian Movement of the Red Star (ChDKZ) leader, Andrej Lopotev – have repelled government forces who yesterday attempted to retake the South Zagorian capital, Chernagorsk.

The failure comes after Chernarussian PM Alexander Baranov and members of his cabinet were assassinated by the rebels last friday and amid the arrival of a U.S Marine task force in the region.
